YAK FAQs
| Q. |
Are the CAA clamping
down on foreign registered aircraft, Russian licences etc? |
| A. |
Same
old scare story I guess, it pops up every 2 years or so!! Basically make
sure you have a valid c of a, pilots licence and you will not have a problem.
UK licence, UK airspace = can fly foreign registration
UK licence, French airspace = can't fly
UK licence, LY airspace + LY registration = can fly. In other words you need
2 of the 3 the same jurisdiction to fly the a/c |
| Q. |
How I can decode
the information stored on the original flight data recorder in the back
of my 52? |
| A. |
Its
a paper recorder, put smoked paper in and then turn on the timer and you
will get a result! You can set one revolution to 30 mins, 1 hrs or higher. |
| Q. |
Why is the x-wind
limit on the 52 is so low @ 12kts. Is is due to takeoff problems with the
castoring nose wheel? If so, what's the limit with a x-wind from the better
(left) side? |
| A. |
To
help reduce accidents with students I guess. I have flown in 25 kts but
watch for brake fade |
